Undercover Martyn Breast Slap is a series of TikTok videos in which one person slaps each breast of an unsuspecting other person in quick succession to the song "Undercover Martyn" by Two Door Cinema Club. The videos became popular in summer 2019 and made news headlines in February 2020 after one TikToker slapped his mother's breasts.

Origin

On July 4th, 2019, TikToker @taylorjanee357 uploaded the earliest version of the Undercover Martyn Breast slap using the Two Door Cinema Club song and the hashtags #happy4th #undercovermartyn #twodoorcinemaclub #makeitviral #undercovermartynchallenge (shown below). The video gained 223 likes in seven months.

Spread

On July 29th, 2019, TikToker @irfndanial_ uploaded the sound clip and used it in his own breast slap video (shown below, left). On October 2nd, @dhaegens uploaded a version which accumulated over 92,100 likes in four months (shown below, center). The trend continued into the next year on TikTok. On January 21st, 2020, TikToker @brettmvrk garnered over 71,900 likes for his breast slap video (shown below, right).

On February 22nd, 2020, Twitter user @brndvx reposted Australian TikToker Aiden Ridings video which had been deleted from TikTok and captioned it “hey mom, would it be cool if i slapped your titties?” (shown below). The post gained 164,600 likes and 27,500 retweets in four days. Many Twitter users left surprised and disgusted comments on Twitter and the video was featured in articles by The Daily Dot^[2] and The DailyMail UK.^[1]
