Two Roads refers to a series of TikTok videos in which users use object labeling to choose between two directions while a reading of Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken" plays in the background.
Origin
On June 8th, 2019, TikTok user @hamzah_alemad uploaded the audio clip of Robert Frost's poem and used it in a video describing the two options typically used in "middle schoolers snap stories" (shown below). The video gained over 1,500 likes in a month.
Spread
On June 14th, 2019, TikTok user @matthew_wagoner uploaded a video in which a senior choose the road labeled "freshman girls" over "high GPA" (shown below, left). The video gained over 88,500 likes and 4,600 in three weeks. On June 28th, @haybeelee uploaded a video about what happens after they take a shower which garnered over 90,800 likes in two weeks (shown below, center). On July 3rd, @kwondike.bar uploaded a video about shopping carts which accumulated over 83,300 likes in seven days (shown below, right).
