Twin Got Put On His Back and HIS SHOOEEEE refer to an exploitable redraw fan art trend based on an image of a guy seen after a fight with his shoe off, falling down a set of stairs. Text on the image reads, "twin got put on his back😂😂😂," "noooooo twin😂😂😂😂" and "HIS SHOOEEEE😂😂😂." Meme creators and artists replaced the shoeless guy with characters from movies, anime, TV and video games (among other subcultures). The original image is from a TikTok video skit posted in 2023.

Origin

On May 16th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @kaynsantanny posted a video skit called, "POV: BEFORE AND AFTER THE FIGHT," in which his character is overly confident about a school fight which he loses, seen in the last frame on the ground, with his shoes off, falling down a set of stairs with text reading, "twin got put on his back😂😂😂" and "noooooo twin😂😂😂😂." Over one year, the video amassed over 5.6 million plays and 1.3 million likes (shown below).

Sometime after the original video was shared, a currently unknown meme creator added an Instagram story text caption reading, "HIS SHOOEEEE😂😂😂" (shown below).

The abovementioned image's first known usage was on July 29th, 2023, shared in a quote by X^[2] user @upblissed which amassed over 26,000 likes in a year (shown below).

Spread

The image spread in non-viral posts on Reddit ^[3] and iFunny ^[4] in mid-2023.

About a year later, on July 11th, 2024, X^[5] user @drugsandsocks_ tweeted a redraw of the image that added characters from Jujutsu Kaisen, receiving over 50,000 likes in a month (shown below).

On July 12th, X^[6] user @fordownerr tweeted a redraw that added One Piece character Usopp, gaining over 17,000 likes in a month. An hour later, X^[7] user @fordownerr quoted their post with a version that colored Usopp's hair, gaining over 4,400 likes (shown below).
