Try Not To Get Scared: Scariest Stories is a series of memes on TikTok in which intentionally bad horror stories, including stories from the subreddits two sentence horror and /r/2sentence2horror, are narrated over related imagery. The meme was popularized by TikToker @offlainnnn, who began posting videos following the format in May 2024. That year, other users began to post similar content and use the audio from @offlainnnn's videos as the source for animations and other memes.
Origin
On May 20th, 2024, TikToker[1] @offlainnnn posted a video in which he reads a rendition of a story from the /r/2sentence2horror[2] subreddit posted a month prior in which a man describes petting what he thinks is his cat while in bed at night, only to discover he's petting a killer clown's hairy ballsack, garnering over 700,000 views in five months. This is the earliest known example of the meme.
Spread
TikToker @offlainnnn continued to post videos following the same format throughout 2024, with many garnering hundreds of thousands to millions of views within the year. For example, on June 9th, 2024, the TikToker[3] posted a video in which he reads several scary stories in a row, garnering over 3.1 million views in four months.
On July 19th, TikToker[4] @skeletonmelatin posted an Undertale fan animation in which Sans tells one of the horror stories around a campfire, garnering over 300,000 views in three months.
On September 6th, 2024, TikToker[5] @thecomedycat posted a comedic video set to one of @offlainnnn's videos featuring their cat interacting with an evil cheeseburger, garnering over 2.8 million views in a month.

Creature Feature Featuring The Creature, also known as The Creature Feature, is a TikTok soundbite from Offlain's "Scariest Stories" meme in which the creator uses a Dr. Seuss rhyme style to narrate a "creepypasta" about "The Creature" featuring a film of the same name. The original video was posted in mid-October 2024 and later sparked several brainrot memes, parodies and remixes on TikTok often using images of cats and other creepy animals to describe "The Creature" as the trend spread on the platform.
