After the image was posted online, Twitter users joked about it by pairing it with captions imagining the president yelling at someone who was uninterested in what he had to say.

Origin

On September 15th, 2017, Frank "FX" Giacco received the opportunity to mow the White House lawn after writing to the President making the offer to do so.[1] Several pictures were taken of the event, including one in particular where it appeared as though Trump was yelling at Giacco (shown below). This image became popularly used in memes satirizing the president.

The day the picture was posted online, many tweets were posted with captions mocking the image. Some popular examples include a tweet by @rachelaxler that gained over 5,800 retweets and 29,000 likes (shown below, left). A tweet by @bessbell mocking Trump's strict opinions on immigration gained over 660 retweets and 3,500 likes (shown below, right). The initial wave of memes was covered by sites including Romper,[2] Mashable,[3] and Esquire.[4]



The image continued to be used on Twitter in the following months to satirize recent White House news. For example, on March 20th, 2018, Twitter user @cFidd used the image to joke about the DO NOT CONGRATULATE moment (shown below, left). On April 25th, 2018, Twitter user @ditzkoff satirized the recent endorsement of Trump by Kanye West, gaining over 680 retweets (shown below, right).
