Trojan Horse Object Labels refers to a series object-labeled image macros of a "Trojan Horse," a large wooden horse containing secret enemies but presented as a gift as depicted in the mythical Trojan War. The various objects within the image are named different pieces of a secret attack on the meme's subject.

Origin

On May 15th, 2015, a comic by Martin Kozlowski (shown below) of Torjan Horse labeled Facebook entering the city of Troy, which is labeled The New York Times, was featured on Contently.[1]

Spread

Three years later, on July 17th, 2018, Instagram [2] user @juicybignut posted an object labeled version of the comic. In this version, the city is labeled "my underwear," the horse is labeled "my dick," the soldiers inside the horse are labeled "the last drop of pee" and the person bringning the horse into the city is labeled "me after using the unrinal." The post (shown below, left) received more than 10,000 likes in 24 hours.

That day, Redditor [3] millionaire_fox posted the comic in the /r/MemeEconomy subreddit. The post received more than 37,000 points(85% upvoted) and 2,400 comments in 24 hours.

The following day, the meme became more prevelant on Reddit. Redditor[4] CautionVeryDank posted a variation about "predatory lead singers" of Emo bands in the /r/dankmemes subreddit. The post (shown below, center) received more than 640 points (96% upvoted) and 15 comments in 24 hours.

Redditor[5] FrenchJackhammer posted a variant in the /r/PewdiepieSubmissions subreddit. The post (shown below, right) received more than 540 points (90% upvoted) in 24 hours.
