Triple the Dosage is an image macro series and dialogue snowclone featuring an image of a doctor and a nurse residing over a sick patient. In the accompanying snowclone, the doctor asks a question about the patient. The nurse then gives a response the doctor doesn't like, so he instructs the nurse to "Triple the dosage." When the nurse says "That could kill him," the doctor replies "JUST DO IT."

Origin

The meme started as a spinoff of Are You Sexually Active?. On April 25th, 2016, Instagram user TheFunnyIntrovert^[1] published an "Are You Sexually Active" joke with the image that would become the template for "Triple the Dosage" image macros. The post, shown below, gained over 14,000 likes.

Spread

While the image saw some spread in the following year, it wasn't until early March of 2017 that it began being used as a snowclone template. On March 2nd, Fishfire23 posted TheFunnyIntrovert's post to /r/dankmemes,^[2] where it gained over 15,000 upvotes. Shortly after, variations began appearing on /r/me_irl and /r/MemeEconomy, incorporating Mike Pence, PewDiePie, and 9GAG.
