Toronto Accent Girl "If the Business Is True, That You Left Your Moms in the Hood, Somebody Go Smoke That Yute" refers to a viral video of Toronto influencer Plushh criticizing YouTuber K Showtime on the Seeking Success Podcast for allegedly leaving his mom in the hood when he moved into a condo. The video went viral on TikTok in early October for Plushh's thick Toronto accent, similar to when she went viral for the Balling Up Rules video, inspiring numerous lip dubs on TikTok and reactions online, with some making fun of the Toronto accent.
Origin
On August 3rd, 2023, YouTubers[1] Seeking Success Podcast posted an interview with Plushh, a Toronto influencer known for her heavy Toronto accent. During the interview, she criticizes YouTuber K Showtime for allegedly leaving his mom in the hood despite his success and moving into a condo. At the 49:24 mark, Plushh continues to talk about K Showtime allegedly leaving his mom in the hood, saying that if it's true someone should "smoke that yute," essentially meaning, "kill that kid," and calling him a "sick to my stomach" (shown below). The video gained over 3,400 views in two months.
And what I don’t like is if the business is true, that you left your moms in the hood, somebody go smoke that yute. You don’t leave your moms nowhere. You have money and you left your moms there? Yo, you’re sick to my stomach, fam. But if it’s not true, shorty's just talkin' shit.
On October 4th, the @seekingsuccesspodcast TikTok[2] page posted the clip of Plushh talking about K Showtime, garnering over 4.7 million views in two weeks (shown below).

On October 7th, 2023, X[3] user @KameronBennett posted the clip, writing, "This how yall talk in Toronto?" garnering over 35,600 likes in two weeks. On October 11th, YouTube[4] podcast BFFs, hosted by Dave Portnoy, reacted to the clip in an episode that garnered over 207,000 views in eight days (shown below).
The original sound for @seekingsuccesspodcast's TikTok video became notably popular throughout October 2023, garnering over 3,000 uses in two weeks. Some of the most popular videos are lip dubs either referencing how funny they find the Toronto accent or making jokes about yapping. For example, on October 13th, TikToker[5] @planktonssidehoe posted a lip dub that gained over 2.3 million views in six days (shown below, left). On October 16th, TikToker[6] @rav.ioli18 posted a lip dub that gained over 1.3 million views in three days (shown below, right).
