Too Much Info-Gay-Tion is a pun on the phrase "too much information" used as phrasal template by members of the LGBTQ+ community to share personal information online. However, the questions to the answers presented in the posts are available to those who respond to the posts with an emoji.

Origin

On January 4th, 2020, Twitter^[1] user @kennyfoxley tweeted the earliest known usage of the meme. They wrote, "TOO MUCH INFO-GAY-TION🌈 – married – bisexual -she/her -2 lol – my ex lmao – 3 – too many – sub – I have! – my wife 😂 DROP AN EMOJI FOR QUESTIONS!🌈 " (shown below).

Spread

Over the next few months, the template continued to appear online, as people both participated in the game or commenting that they do not understand the game (examples below, left and center).

On August 3rd, 2020, Twitter^[2] user @hani_L77 posted a screenshot of the questions (shown below, right). They read:
