Time For Some Peace and Quiet is a four-panel exploitable series featuring a man looking at his phone in bed. However, when he puts his hone away to sleep, the negative thoughts he has prevents him from sleeping, and he returns to his phone. Online, people replace the words in the speech bubble to reflect their own anxieties for comedic effect.

Origin

On July 13th, 2017, C-Section Comics shared a four-panel webcomic on Facebook. [1] The comic sees a man looking at his phone in bed. In panel two, he puts his phone away and says, "Finally! Time for some peace and quiet." By the third panel, the man is seen thinking about the things that cause him stress, such as work, death, bills, wars and more. Finally, in the fourth panel, the man is depicted sweating and wide-eyed while looking at his phone. Within six months, the comic (shown below) received more tahn 10,000 reactions and 1,300 shares.

Spread

On January 24th, 2018, Twitter [2] user @Z_Cizir posted the first known version of the comic with a photoshopped third panel. In their variation, the man in the third panel is thinking about a war-torn region of the middle east with the caption "I swear that's me." The post (shown below, left) received more tahn 45 retweets and 180 likes in two days,

The following day, Redditor PM_ME_YOURBACKGROUND posted a template of the comic with the text in the third panel removed. The post (shown below, center) received more than 10,000 points (90% upvote) and 195 comments in 24 hours.

That day, Imgur [4] user ximbold published a version in which the third panel features the man thinking "Death and eternal darkness." The post (shown below, right) received more tahn 1,300 views in 24 hours.
