About

The TikTok Water Park Trend and Fire D Trend, also known as Me Without My Water Park vs. Me with My Water Park, refers to a TikTok slideshow trend in which men refer to their girlfriends, wives and partners as their "water park," meaning that they're "wet" for them during intercourse. In the slideshows, two photos are presented, one labeled "Me Without My Water Park" (showing the man alone) and one labeled "Me with My Water Park" (showing the man and his partner). The male version was inspired by the female version that instead attests Me Without My Fire D vs. Me With My Fire D. The "Fire D" trend was inspired by an Instagram comment shared by Gypsy Rose Blanchard. Starting in early 2024, the slideshows used the Future song "The Percocet & Stripper Joint" ("I just tried acid for the first time I'm feeling good"). As many added to the trend, it was criticized by others on the app who viewed it as disrespectful.

Origin

On January 10th, 2024, multiple TikTokers[1][2][3] posted two-photo-long slideshows attesting, "Me Without My Fire D vs. Me With My Fire D." The slideshows used Future's "The Percocet & Stripper Joint" as the sound.[4] The most viral slideshow posted on January 10th was from TikToker[1] @smellyelie, gaining over 1.3 million plays and 153,700 likes in nine days (photos shown below).

Two other viral TikTok[2][3] slideshows posted on January 10th that used the "Fire D" format referenced Gypsy Rose Blanchard as inspiration. The TikTokers were referencing a viral comment Blanchard wrote on an Instagram[5] post from her partner Ryan Anderson. Gypsy Rose Blanchard wrote, among other things, "yeah I said it, the D is fire🔥," gaining over 412,800 likes in two weeks (shown below). News outlets like People[6] also covered Blanchard's comment in early January 2024.

Water Park Trend

On January 13th, 2024, TikToker[7] @junior_dominguez223 posted the first known "Me Without My Water Park vs. Me with My Water Park" slideshow, using the same TikTok sound[4] as the "Fire D" slideshows. Over six days, the photos gained roughly 3.3 million plays and 364,7300 likes (shown below).

Spread

Going into mid-January 2024, increasingly viral slideshows that followed the "Fire D" and "Water Park" trend were posted to TikTok.[8][9]

During the same timeframe, memes about Blanchard's "Fire D" comment spread online, evident in a tweet shared by X[10] user @brokeasskrank on January 4th, 2024, showing the Instagram[5] picture of @ryan_s_anderson_, captioned, "When I sent this just know I’m finna drop some fire d off tonight," gaining over 4,400 likes in 15 days (shown below).

As the "Fire D" and "Water Park" trends became commonplace on TikTok, many creators started to parody and criticize the trend with videos. For instance, on January 12th, 2024, TikToker[11] @818valleyqueen showed herself crying with text reading, "Me watching all the fire D slideshow videos," receiving over 3.4 million plays and 447,900 likes in one week (shown below, left).

On January 16th, 2024, TikToker[12] @yyyohannna questioned what "happened to jus rspecting yo girl," gaining over 9.8 million plays and 1.8 million likes in three days (shown below, right).
