TikTok Gamer Girl is an epithet referring to young women who are often accused of masquerading as "gamers" on TikTok in order to gain views and followers on the video-sharing app.
Origin
On October 25th, 2018, YouTuber Atozy uploaded a video titled "TikTok Gamer Girls Must Be Stopped," mocking the criticism of young girls who "pretend to be gamers" in I'm Already Tracer videos on TikTok (shown below).
Spread
On November 2nd, 2018, Urban Dictionary user BigFactsMan submitted an entry for "Tik Tok Gamer Girl," defining it as female TikTok users who "attract the average gamer by there looks, causing gamers to become distracted and losing their match in any game" (shown below).
That day, Atozy uploaded a followup video titled "TikTok Gamer Girl Cringe Must Be Stopped," highlighting other TikTok videos (shown below, left). On November 3rd, 2018, YouTuber sunsbookishgamesx uploaded a video titled "This Tik Tok Gamer Girl Must Be Stopped" (shown below, right).
On November 7th, YouTuber LOKEY uploaded a video titled "These Are Fake TikTok Gamer Girls," which mocked girls who pretend to be gamers in order to make viral TikTok videos (shown below).
On December 9th, YouTuber FakEMeME uploaded a TikTok compilation video "Tik Tok gamer girls Ironic Memes Compilation" (shown below, left). On December 12th, YouTuber Ellbat uploaded a video titled "Becoming a TikTok Gamer Girl," in which he describes how she attempted to become famous on TikTok by pretending to be a TikTok Gamer Girl (shown below, right).
On January 9th, 2019, YouTuber "PewDiePie": uploaded a video titled "Tik Tok Gamer Girls," in which he reviewed various TikTok videos (shown below).
