The man is British popstar Gary Barlow. The original video was posted to his TikTok account Gary Barlow Wines (@garybarlowwines) in April 2024, showing him in his vineyard for his wine company. The video gained variations and memes that replaced the background of Barlow's video.

On April 5th, 2024, Gary Barlow posted a video to his TikTok^[1] @garybarlowwines of himself standing in a vineyard, saying to the camera, "This is my idea of a very nice day out." Over three days, the TikTok received roughly 1.7 million plays and 145,600 likes (shown below).

Originally, TikTokers dueted Barlow's video, like TikToker^[2] @r1ssyr00 on April 5th, 2024, who pretended that Barlow was strangling him, earning over 316,400 plays and 44,000 likes in three days (shown below, left).

Others on TikTok riffed on the "strangling" concept, like TikToker^[3] @samcornforth on April 7th, whose video gained over 7.4 million plays and 1 million likes in a day (shown below, right).

During the same timeframe, TikTokers posted videos that removed the background of Barlow's video, replacing it with different settings. For instance, on April 6th, TikToker^[4] @ellietricity posted a video about wasting money at an arcade, gaining over 465,400 plays and 67,700 likes in two days (shown below, left).

Also on April 6th, 2024, TikToker^[5] @evsylover posted a similar video referencing a U.K.-specific pub, receiving over 510,600 plays and 99,600 likes in two days (shown below, right).
