On February 13th, 2017, Ivanka Trump and Justin Trudeau sat next to one another at a roundtable discussion about female business leaders at the White House. During the meeting, Trump was photographed looking in Trudeau's direction. That day, Twitter user @Phil_Lewis_^[3] tweeted several of the photos with the caption "Get you someone that looks at you the way Ivanka Trump looks at Justin Trudeau (shown below). Within 48 hours, the tweet gathered more than 44,000 likes and 22,000 retweets.

That day, other Twitter users posted photographs of Ivanka Trump looking toward Trudeau at the meeting captioned with jokes about her perceived romantic interest in the prime minister (shown below).

On February 14th, Twitter user @DannyDutch^[1] posted several photographs of people looking at Trudeau, including Ivanka Trump, Emma Watson and Donald Trump with the caption "No one is safe from PM Steal Yo Girl!" (shown below). Within 24 hours, the tweet gained over 197,000 likes and 112,000 retweets. The following day, Redditor itsharsha reposted the pictures to /r/pics,^[2] where it gained upwards of 33,600 points (84% upvoted) and 2,100 comments within three hours.

Meanwhile, Redditor datums reposted photographs of Ivanka Trump looking at Trudeau to the /r/GirlsMirin^[4] subreddit. In the coming days, several news sites published articles about the online reaction to the photographs, including Mashable,^[5] The Daily Dot^[6] and The Guardian.^[7]
