Think About What That Does to a Man refers to a Gamer Joker image macro meme in which Joker asks the viewer to consider the effect that not receiving a footjob for 35 years can have on a person. Posted in 2022, the image macro has since achieved virality as a recaption meme format in which "footjob" is replaced with other things.

Origin

On February 11th, 2022, iFunny[1] user pooptails posted a Gamer Joker image macro based on an image of Heath Ledger's Joker with the caption, "35 years without a footjob… Think about what that does to a man…" The post (shown below) garnered over 11,800 smiles in two years.



Spread

The image saw viral spread online through reposts on Reddit, X / Twitter and other sites over the following months and years. For example, on July 20th, 2023, an unknown Redditor[2] posted the image in the /r/BatmanArkham community, where it gained over 1,200 upvotes in one year.

On August 25th, 2023, Redditor MyszPL remade the image macro with Donald Trump's mugshot photograph, which received over 6,500 upvotes in the /r/okbuddyretard[3] subreddit in one year (shown below).



Starting in October 2023, the image macro has been used as a recaption format. On October 19th, 2023, X[4] user @lucio_soliz posted the earliest notable recaption meme based on the image, a meme about Rayman, which gained over 210 reposts and 3,500 likes in one year (shown below).



On March 12th, 2024, Instagram user onlygwill posted a meme about the Zombies mode in Call of Duty video games that received over 4,100 likes and was widely circulated through reposts in the following weeks (shown below).



The recaption format maintained online popularity in the spring and summer of 2024, often used for memes about video game and film franchises.
