Thief, Murderer, also known as Terrorist, Rapist and Mob Justice, refers to a series of exploitable webcomics of a person accusing others of being a terrorist and a rapist before a mob attacks the accused man. Online, edit the final panel, changing the comic to express a humorous accusation.

Origin

The original comic is credited to the Vietnamese artist Lackenart,^[1] and the earliest known publishing of the comic is on June 27th, 2016 on the website Xemgame.^[2]

Spread

Two years later, on June 22nd, 2018, DeviantArt ^[3] user someone1fy posted a variation to reflect an opinion about anime. The post (shown below, left) received more than 110 views in three weeks.

Later that week, on June 28th, Redditor ^[4] KSSK-7 published a version that referenced the People Who Thank the Bus Driver meme. The post (shown below, center) received more than 1,900 points (96% upvoted) and 20 comments.

On July 1st, Twitter ^[5] user @rainolaguer posted a version in which people are accused of being a "terrorist," a "rapist" and, finally, "anime profile pic." The image (shown below, right) became the inspiration for a series of these on the /r/dankmemes subreddit.

Two days later, on July 3rd, Redditor^[6] Cysir posted a version of the meme in the /r/MemeEconomy subreddit. The post's final panel reads "Likes Cars 2." Within 24 hours, the post (shown below) received more than 12,000 points (93% upvoted) and 1,100 comments.
