There's The Pretty Girls…. And There's The Popular Girls… And I Look Like is an exploitable webcomic observing how other girls look and how the artist of the comic looks. The author's stand-in last person is usually changed to another character or person which is unexpected.

Origin

The comic was released on March 9th, 2014, on the Facebook page "Emilys Diary," gaining over 64,000 likes and reactions (shown below).

On September 4th, 2014, user "CreamBRabbit" read the comic with her voice and posted it to YouTube, gaining over 2 million views (shown below).

Spread

The comic helped create a community around "kawaii potato." There is a Facebook page for the character with over 480,000 likes.^[1] There is also a website for a "Kawaii Potato Army."^[2] The comic also was the source for exploitable edits. For example, a comic by @whomstd.v1 used an image of a Goomba with Cappy from Super Mario Odyssey on it. It was reposted by @erect__memes.v3 on June 14th, 2017 (shown below, left). A trebuchet meme was posted to /r/trebuchetmemes on November 2nd, 2016, gaining over 680 points (shown below, right).

The CreamBRabbit video began spawning exploitable edits in late 2018. For example, YouTuber An Instrument posted a parody on November 17th, 2018 that gained over 33,000 views (shown below).
