The original image was posted on Instagram in early February 2025, but in mid-May 2025, a screenshot of the meme showing the comment "Turkey mention" (a reference to the Brazil Mentioned meme) gained virality on Reddit and Twitter / X in the following months.

Origin

Sometime in February 2025, an unknown Instagram user uploaded an AI-generated image of a gay couple wearing personalized T-shirts with the phrases "There's A Turkey in This Oven" and "I Put A Turkey In This Oven." The AI meme portrays one of the men in the couple as pregnant (seen below).

On February 8th, 2025, Redditor u/7up1001 posted the earliest known mention of the image to the /r/comedyheaven^[1] subreddit, uploading a screenshot of Instagram user @emir_yigit13's comment, "Turkey mention," under the image, which amassed over 43,000 upvotes and 102 comments in four months.

The screenshot showing the "Turkey mention" comment was widely shared on social media for the next few months, spawning more jokes related to the "Turkey in this oven" AI image.

For instance, on May 21st, 2025, X^[2] user @tokyoxkenshinDS posted a redraw of the meme, writing, "does anyone have this pic I can't find it." The tweet (seen below) amassed over 8 million views and 444,000 likes in a day.

On the same day, X^[3] user @TaimaSmash uploaded a picture recreating the meme in real life with a friend, both wearing the "Turkey in this oven" T-shirt and holding Turkey's country flag. The post (seen below) amassed more than 820 likes and 24 reposts in a day.
