About
There's a Man Out Front is a catchphrase referring to a creepypasta by Twitter user @Dustinkcouch comprised of a series of fake social media posts on sites including Twitter and Threads where the phrase "there's a man out front" is added to every post a user makes, with only some users able to see it. The creepypasta was posted to Twitter on August 1st, 2023, and went viral, inspiring Twitter users to attach the phrase to their tweets as if the creepypasta was coming true.
Origin
On August 1st, 2023, Twitter[1] user @Dustinkcouch, known for posting creepypastas in the form of fake Twitter threads, posted, "the internet sucks now," along with a series of four images of fake posts to Twitter and Threads where users' posts have the phrase "there's a man out front" attached to the end. The images include brands using the phrase. In one image, a user named "MS Paint Sonic" asks why the phrase is appearing everywhere, with another user replying that they can't see it. In another, MS Pain Sonic responds to a tweet, asking, "WHAT MAN? WHO IS OUT FRONT?" even though the phrase does not appear in the tweet. The post gained over 48,000 likes in a day (shown below).
