The video was uploaded in late January 2026 and became the subject of memes on TikTok and Instagram Reels shortly after.

Origin

On January 28th, 2026, YouTuber[1] camman18 posted a video showing off some of the new features in Minecraft 26.1 Snapshot 5, released the day prior.[2] In the video, he introduces the golden dandelion, which can be used to keep mobs as babies forever. He says, "Then we have the golden dandelion, which is a golden dandelion." The video gained over 3.8 million views in five days.



The clip of camman18 talking about the golden dandelion became the subject of meme edits over the following days. Most of these are brainrot memes that erratically edit the video to make it as absurd as possible.

One of the earliest known examples was posted by TikToker[3] @him02136 on January 29th, 2026, garnering over 400,000 views in four days.

On January 31st, 2026, TikToker[4] @wither_w posted an edit combining the clip with other brainrot memes, including the Mmm Bobby video, that gained over 247,000 views in two days.


On February 1st, 2026, TikToker[5] @awesomesauce.sofi posted an edit where the clip transitions to a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? graphic asking, "What is a golden dandelion?" that garnered over 207,000 views in a day.
