Since early June 2025, the phrase has been referenced in memes, parodies and edits of other prominent manga series using the power, especially Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK) characters like Satoru Gojo and Sukuna.

On June 8th, 2025, chapter 216 of the Sakamoto Days[1] manga series was released on the Manga Plus website. In a particular panel of the chapter, the character Atari is explaining to Shin Asakura why he wasn't slashed by a sword attack, calling the phenomenon "the tunnel effect," a special ability "in which a particle can penetrate a barrier greater than its own energy, making the particle in his body and the sword to miraculously not collide."

On the same day, X[2] user @farris206 posted the panel along with the caption, "It gets to a point," which amassed more than 1.3 million views and 35,000 likes in three days.
