The Taliban Watching The U.S. Deploy Freddy Fazbear or Freddy Fazbear Taliban refers to a series of shitpost memes about Freddy Fazbear from the video game Five Nights at Freddy's being deployed by the U.S. as an ultimate weapon to fight the Taliban. The majority of the memes are image macros about the Taliban in shock while watching Fazbear being deployed, which were popularized in late 2021.

On August 17th, 2021, iFunny^[1] user RhombusMicrowave posted a GIF macro showing a man staring up in shock captioned "the Taliban watching the U.S. helicopter deploy Freddy Fazbear," implying that Fazbear is being deployed as a weapon to fight the Taliban, gaining over 50 smiles in four months (shown below). This is the earliest known meme about Fazbear fighting the Taliban.

Spread

Memes about Fazbear being deployed to fight the Taliban increased over the following months. On August 17th, 2021, iFunny^[2] user TooManyUnsmiles posted a GIF macro about Afghanis thanking Fazbear for freeing them from the Taliban, gaining over 90 smiles in four months (shown below).

On November 11th, Redditor 4_2_1010 posted a meme to /r/shitposting^[5] using the same phrase about deploying Freddy Fazbear on the Taliban, using a Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs GIF as the Taliban's reaction, gaining over 7,400 upvotes in just under a month (shown below). It was crossposted to /r/5nafcirclejerk^[6] that day, gaining another 800 upvotes.

The meme started to become popularized on Instagram in November 2021 as it spread to other platforms.
