The Rossy or Adin Ross Dance is a dance created by and named after Twitch streamer Adin Ross in collaboration with Kai Cenat in which the dancer raises their hands to the side of their head, elbows bent and rhythmically alternates tapping one toe at a time while bouncing their hands up and down. The dance is likely inspired by streamer Ludwig's dance the Luddy and was first performed during a November 2022 livestream, spreading on TikTok later that month.
Origin
On November 19th, 2022, Adin Ross's Twitch highlights YouTube[1] channel, Adin Live, posted a video titled, "Adin Ross & Kai Cenat Make 'The Ross' DANCE!" In the clip, Ross and Kai Cenat do a dance where they raise their hands to the side of their heads slightly then alternate tapping one foot at a time, sliding once in-between the taps, garnering over 55,000 views in three days (shown below).
Spread
On November 19th, 2022, Adin Ross posted a video to TikTok[2] where he does the same dance with Kai Cenat to "Barbie Girl," garnering over 4.1 million views in three days (shown below).
The dance began to spread on TikTok over the following days as other users started to perform it. On November 20th, TikToker[3] @secretagentayden posted a video doing the dance, garnering over 62,000 views in two days (shown below, left). On November 21st, TikToker[4] @sidneyeweka posted a video doing the dance, garnering over 227,000 views in a day (shown below, right).
