The Quarterback Factory refers to a statement made by the general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, Howie Roseman, during a conference for Eagles fans following night two of the NFL Draft. Roseman stated that they wanted to be a quarterback factory which was widely mocked on Twitter with photoshopped images of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie poster and the Cheesecake Factory.

Origin

On April 24th, 2020, the Philadelphia Eagles Youtube account uploaded "Eagles Front Office Discuss Jalen Hurts Selection" which features general manager Howie Roseman speaking during an Eagles press conference and saying they are a "quarterback factory" (shown below). The video gained over 24,800 views in five days.

On April 25th, 2020, Twitter users began to mock the statement. Twitter user @a_dunne_deal[2] posted a photoshopped Charlie and the Chocolate Factory_ poster to feature Roseman and some of the players and added the caption, "Come with me and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination" (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 1,000 likes and 270 retweets in four days. That same day, Twitter user @EagleFanProbs[3] tweeted an edited Cheesecake Factory photo with the caption, "Howie Roseman’s Quarterback Factory. This is Pain" (shown below, right). The tweet accumulated over 340 likes in four days.



That same day, sports reporter Les Bowen[4] tweeted, "Welp. I'm going to bed. Got to get up tomorrow and clock back in at the quarterback factory" which received over 580 likes in four days. The next day, Twitter user @JimmyKempski uploaded a short animation of "A day at the Eagles QB factory" (shown below). The tweet garnered over 13,000 likes and 2,700 retweets in three days. NBC Sports[1] published an article on the memes.
