The National Brexit Impact Photoshops is a series of photoshopped based on a blank newspaper cover by the National, a Scottish newspaper who challenged readers to fill in the blank cover in regards to the impact of the U.K.'s withdrawal from the European Union.

Origin

On December 6th, 2017, The National newspaper tweeted[1] a picture of a blank cover for the publication. They captioned the post "It's over to you, readers! What will the impact of Brexit be? Help the UK Government out by writing or drawing on tomorrow's front page box, then tweet us a picture of it." Within 24 hours, the tweet (shown below) received more than 1,300 retweets and 2,000 likes.

Shortly after the tweet was made, followers began filling in the blank cover with humorous images. Twitter[2] @BigPoppaTotoro posted an image from the animated sitcom The Simpsons of Homer disproportionately dividing space in his bedroom. The flags of the England and the E.U. are photoshopped over the characters' heads. The post (shown below, left) received more than 80 retweets and 470 likes in 24 hours.

Twitter[3] user @StuieDonaldson photoshopped the This Is Fine comic onto the cover (shown below, center), receiving more than 350 retweets and 1,400 likes in 24 hours. Twitter[4] user @ChrisMcPhail posted the cover with the I Don't Know LOL emoitcon (shown below, right), received more than 200 retweets and 900 likes in 24 hours.

That day, Twitter[5] published a Moments page regarding the cover.
