On February 5th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @masonmakesnoise posted a slideshow consisting of six slides about attending "the Ian function," a fictional party in which horrible things happen to attendees, portraying the function as something the guests must survive, garnering over 177,000 views in two days (selected slides shown below).

Spread

The TikToker posted five more slideshows to TikTok^{[2][3][4][5][6]} about the Ian function over the following days, garnering around 150,000 collective views in two days (examples slides shown below), with other TikTokers also playing into the meme.

On February 6th, 2024, TikToker^[7] @itsmystic3264 posted a video referencing the Ian function, garnering over 20,000 views in a day (shown below).
