About

The Feet Pics, Darling is a copypasta used as a caption to characters creepily smiling, as if they were addressing someone they had a financially-based sexual relationship with and were demanding pictures of that person's feet.

Origin

The origin of the meme is unclear. The copypasta appeared on Twitter in an April 30th, 2018 post by @iceedancer (shown below).[6]

Spread

It appeared again on July 26th, 2018 in a post by user @careforavery[1] (shown below).

The copypasta began seeing more use in image macros in August of that year. A variation appeared in /r/texts[2] on August 8th (shown below, left). A Doge variation appeared on /r/okbuddyretard[3] on August 26th, 2018, gaining over 400 points (shown below, right).

It continued to spread throughout the year, most notably with an edit featuring Mr. Mime from the Detective Pikachu film. After the trailer for the film aired, the copypasta was paired with Mr. Mime. It appeared on ResetEra[4] on November 12th, 2018 (shown below, left). It appeared in a Buzzfeed[5] list about terrible things on the internet in 2018. This inspired edits with more characters, such as Susie from Deltarune (shown below, right).
