About
The Cranny Trend refers to a series of memes that involve a user requesting others to submit ideas for an unusual indoor space, such as a small cranny or a landing, with other users replying with edits of the image that reference video games and other media. Started by the Inaccessible Foyer Landing trend in January 2024, the format repeatedly went viral throughout 2024 as users shared photographs of crannies and landings in their homes.

Inaccessible Foyer Landing
On January 16th, 2024, X[1] user @RealEstateMaxi tweeted a photo of a McMansion foyer, captioning it, "One of my least-liked design elements of suburban design is this inaccessible landing I see in foyers." The tweet inspired a slew of quotes and replies in which users provided humorous answers as to what could occupy the inaccessible landing, with some users submitting photoshops editing various objects onto the landing.
