The Council vs. The Rogues refers to a joke war on TikTok between the "council of men" and "rogue men" who share the council's secrets. Videos joking about the war were sparked in January 2022 by TikToker @chedurena after he explained how men can secretly scratch their testicles through their pants pocket, inspiring joking criticism from TikToker @thevantalord, known for his videos about the council of men, about spreading the council's secrets.

Origin

On January 3rd, 2022, Canadian TikToker^[1] Che Durena posted a Stitch to a video by TikToker @felicitialize2017 asking how men "don't punch their dicks" when they put their hands in their pockets. Durena explains how men's pockets are made perfectly to avoid hitting the testicles on entry and goes on to explain how men can sneakily reach into their pockets to scratch their balls if they want (shown below). The video gained over 10.6 million views in 10 days.

On January 4th, TikToker^[2] @thevantalord, who is known for playing a character that runs a kingdom holding all the secrets of men, Stitched Durena's video. In the video, he calls Durena a "member of the high council" and criticizes him for sharing secrets from "the wiener playbook" for sharing the scratching technique. He then calls on Durena to make a statement before the council (shown below). The video gained over 3.3 million views in nine days.

Durena responded with a TikTok^[3] Duet that day, saying he's never answered to the council and announcing himself as a rogue from day one, comparing himself to a Sith sitting amongst the Jedi from Star Wars, gaining over 1.3 million views in the same span of time (shown below).

Spread

On January 7th, 2022, @thevantalord responded to Durena again, mentioning a fictional pact Durena made to the council during a war and sending bounty hunters after Durena for his betrayal, gaining over 3.3 million views in six days (shown below, left). On the same day, Durena responded, saying for every bounty hunter sent his way he will leak another secret, then gives another secret from the weiner playbook about how every guy has tucked his genitals between his legs and looked in the mirror to see what it looks like, gaining over 2.3 million views (shown below, right). The two continued to post responses to each other over the following week, expanding on the joke feud.

Other TikTokers started playing into the feud as it went on, taking the side of either the council or the rogues. For example, on January 9th, TikToker @chuddnelius made an emotional plea in defense of the rogues, gaining over 100,000 views in four days (shown below, left). TikToker @paharikawa also showed support for the rogues, claiming The Vanta Lord and council is corrupt (shown below, right). In a response to @chuddnelius' video by Durena, he suggests the leader of the council is into feet.^[4]

The Vanta Lord also managed to gain a number of supporters willing to "go to war" against the rogues with him, many of which he responded to on his TikTok page via Duets (examples shown below, left and right). The Vanta Lord also responded to a number of men on the side of the rogues, denouncing them. On January 11th, Dexerto^[5] published a story on the feud.

On January 12th, 2022, TikToker^[6] @underthedesknews posted a video explaining the beef, gaining over 1.7 million views in a day (shown below).

Durena continued to spill the council's secrets as he and The Vanta Lord gathered support from others. On January 13th, Durena posted a video to TikTok spilling the secret that all men have stretched out their testicles to see what it looks like, gaining over 369,000 views in under a day (shown below).
