The Chicken Wing Song is a short viral song made popular on YouTube. Ten years later, a remix of the song by Ricky Desktop called "The Chicken Wing Beat" became a popular TikTok sound, accompanying numerous videos. The song contains the lyrics:

Chilling with my homies
Chicken wings, Chicken wings
Hotdog and baloney
Chicken and macaroni
Chillin' with my homies

Origin

The origin of the song is unknown. On November 19th, 2007, YouTuber leonkrpd shared a remix of the song. The original version of the song appears at the end of the video; though, the video is the earliest available version of the song. The post received more than 66,000 views in less than 13 years (shown below).

However, on September 23rd, 2020, an anonymous Answers.com^[1] claimed that the original version of the song was posted by YouTuber theretardedgansters, but they alluded to earlier recordings (shown below).

After doing a deep dive on YouTube, the earliest video I found posted dated back to 2007 by theretardedgansters they alluded to the song being from an audio clip being sent around with phones (the era of flip phones, before smartphones.) Someone in the comments alluded to it being from the early days of AOL. I'm still searching for answers, but I've found a few leads.

On December 27th, 2010, YouTuber nicole132cordaro shared the animated video "chicken wing song," which features the Awesome Face on a chicken wing. The description for the video reads, "We made this on flip note on the dsi xl it is so funny I love it." The post received more than 3.8 million views in less than 10 years (shown below, left).

Two years later, on August 12th, 2012, YouTuber Kipper shared the video "Chicken wing song [10 hours]." The post received more than 6.4 million views in less than nine years (shown below, right).

Ricky Desktop "The Chicken Wing Beat"

On June 1st, 2020, musician Ricky Desktop uploaded a remix of the song on TikTok. He named the song "The Chicken Wing Beat." The post received more than 1,300 reactions and 30 comments in less than one year (shown below).

On June 13th, 2020, Ricky Desktop uploaded the song to YouTube. The post received more than 18 million views in less than one year (shown below).

The song became a popular song on TikTok. On September 8th, for example, Bella Poarch published a dance to the song, receiving more than 10 million views and 118,000 comments in less than four months (shown below, left). Two days later, on September 10th, TikToker @summitgoldenboy shared a video with the song. The post received more than 5.7 million and 23,000 comments in less than four months (shown below, right).

On TikTok, more than 5.2 million videos use the song on TikTok,^[2] as of December 2020.
