That's Why I Love Nestle Crunch refers to video edits of Nestle Crunch's 1980's commercial which typically replaces a bite into the chocolate bar with a brief surprise ending.

Origin

On September 14th, 2009, YouTuber AnnainCA uploaded the "1980s Nestle Crunch Commercial" (shown below, left). The video has accumulated over 341,000 views in 10 years. On September 27th, 2016, Vine user Wille J[1] uploaded the first Nestle crunch commercial edit which replaces the bite with a slap. The vine received over 27,000 likes,10,300 revines and 9.3 million loops in three years. Two days later Willie J uploaded the vine to YouTube where it garnered over one million views in three years (shown below, right).

Spread

Over the next several years, YouTubers began uploading their own variations of the Nestle Crunch commercial. On September 29th, 2016, YouTuber Arnold Hernandez upload another example which received over 100,000 views in three years (shown below, left). On October 12th, YouTuber JustCallMeJohn made extra edits of the video which garnered over 14,000 views in three years (shown below, right).

On November 21st, 2017, Instagram user monosaccharidememes uploaded a Nestle Crunch edit with a surprise ending that gained over 1,300 likes in two years (shown below).

On May 24th, 2018, YouTuber Jaqueegeeze uploaded a popular "Nestle Crunch Meme Compilation" video which gained over 271,000 views and 4,200 likes in a year (shown below).

In 2019, TikTok users began using a sound clip from a Nestle Crunch edit to accompany videos with something snapping, falling, or hitting at the end of their video. On March 22nd, TikTok user @reinhard_twins uploaded a video of a pole vaulting pole snapping (shown below, left). The video gained over 1.7 million likes and 93,500 shares in two months. On April 20th, TikTok user @zoelaverne uploaded a video of herself falling awkwardly onto a bed (shown below, right). The video gained over one million likes and 57,300 shares in two weeks.
