"That Girl Is So Cute, I Wonder What She's Listening To…" is an exploitable comic series featuring a boy wondering what a young woman on public transport is listening to, followed by a final panel revealing various absurd, crude or offensive lyrics coming out of the woman's headphones.

Origin

On December 25th, 2013, Tumblr user K009^[2] published the original comic, in which the young girl is shown listening to the 1992 gangsta rap song "Bitches Ain't Shit" by Dr. Dre (shown below).^[3]

Spread

The comic initially gained notoriety on 4chan's /mu/ board as an exploitable comic, in which the poster replaces the final panel with a different set of lyrics, very often with lyrics from the band Death Grips. On June 18th, 2015, FunnyJunk^[4] user boxdweller uploaded a collection of edited versions of the comic, which gathered upwards of 23,000 views and 430 points over the next several years. On January 15th, 2016, Redditor Doctor_Rocket_ posted an edit featuring lyrics from the electronic song "Noma" by Brain Power (shown below). Prior to being archived, the post received more than 730 points (93% upvoted) and 90 comments on /r/osugame.^[5]

On September 17th, Redditor Matty15243 posted a variation with lyrics from the Ninja Sex Party song "If We Were Gay" to /r/NinjaSexParty^[7] (shown below, left). On June 12th, 2017, Redditor ProMeleePlayer uploaded a comic referencing the POMF meme to /r/animemes^[6] (shown below,right).
