Thank You For Being Our Heroes refers to a snowclone borne from a popular tweet in which a Twitter user thanked cast members of The Avengers: Endgame "for being our heroes." The format of the tweet became used in jokes where people thanked casts of other, more humorous franchises.

On April 26th, 2019, Twitter user @leufeysonwinter tweeted:

The tweet gained over 102,000 retweets and 296,000 likes.^[1]

Spread

After the tweet, several people began to quote-tweet it with humorous examples of their own. For example, Twitter user @selinuenal13 parodied the tweet by thanking the members of Big Time Rush, gaining over 1,500 retweets and 6,800 likes (shown below, left). User @BillDarcangelo made the joke using the cast of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, gaining over 3,200 retweets and 16,000 likes (shown below, right).

Other popular examples include a tweet by @vinylghosts using the members of One Direction, gaining over 230 retweets and 850 likes (shown below, left). User @pissboymcgee made the joke using cheap alcohol, gaining over 300 retweets and 3,600 likes (shown below, right).
