On September 24th, 2023, Taylor Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs NFL game, fueling rumors that she was dating the team's tight end, Travis Kelce. That day, the Swift stan account @tswifterastour[1] posted a photo of Swift at the game on Twitter / X, alerting Swift fans that the singer was "eating a piece of chicken with ketchup and seemingly ranch!" The tweet gained over 6,900 retweets, 46,000 likes and 4,200 quote tweets in three days (shown below).

The post was quickly mocked on Twitter as people poked fun at the zealousness of Swifties. In particular, the phrase "Seemingly Ranch" stuck out in people's minds, leading to a variety of jokes and memes. For example, on September 26th, 2023, the official Heinz ketchup Twitter account[2] tweeted a parody new sauce called "Ketchup and seemingly ranch," gaining over 1,600 retweets and 34,000 likes in one day (shown below, left). On September 24th, user @TomZohar[3] posted a Legally Blonde poster parody with the phrase, gaining over 880 retweets and 20,000 likes in three days (shown below, right).
Others used the tweet as a copypasta. For example, on September 26th, the Twitter account for New York Mets mascot Mrs. Met[4] posted a recreation of the tweet, gaining over 680 retweets and 6,300 likes in one day (shown below, left). On September 24th, user @sallydarr[5] posted a Kevin James Smirking meme with the copypasta, gaining over 2,200 retweets and 53,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).
