About
Taylor Swift is for the Girls Who Were Known but Not Popular is a copypasta meme format based on a viral tweet describing singer-songwriter Taylor Swift as a singer for "the girls who were known but not popular" and "fit in with many friend groups but never in the groupchats," among other things. The copypasta format achieved popularity in November 2023 as users replaced Taylor Swift with various people, characters and media.
Origin
On November 14th, 2023, X[1] / Twitter user @giftedswifted, a "Taylor Swift fan:https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/swifties-vs-cinepolitos, made a post about the singer, writing that she was "for the girls who were known but not popular" and "talked to at school but never invited to the parties," among other things, describing a person who wasn't necessarily an outcast but could not be considered a "popular kid" either. The post (shown below) received over 8,100 reposts and quotes and 48,000 likes in three days.
Taylor Swift is actually for the girls who were known but not popular, fit in with many friend groups but never in the groupchats, talked to at school but never invited to the parties, for the girls who have friends but still feel lonely because they were never the best friend.
