On May 12th, YouTuber ZippAgain uploaded an edited version of the clip in which a Godzilla roar sound effect is played while a blue laser beam shoots out from the elephant shrew's mouth (shown below, left). On December 17th, YouTuber TheRider uploaded a variation in which the narrator says ''Take a closer look at that meme'' with a loud yell edited over the elephant shrew (shown below, right).
