Sydney Sweeney Reveals is a series of memes spreading humorous misinformation about actress Sydney Sweeney that falsely claims the actress likes various things. Sharing similarities to previous "X Reveals" memes, such as Jenna Ortega Reveals, the format achieved virality in March 2024.

Origin

On February 26th, 2024, X^[1] / Twitter user @Gaige_Rage made a post falsely claiming that in a recent interview, actress Sydney Sweeney revealed that her favorite NFL player was Mikah Fitzpatrick of the Pittsburg Steelers. The post (shown below) received over 160 reposts and 3,000 likes in one month.

The meme did not achieve popularity until March 14th, 2024, when X^[2] / Twitter user @tittyrespecter made a post claiming that in a recent interview with Vogue Sydney Sweeney revealed that her favorite programming language was Rust. The post (shown below) garnered over 450 reposts and 5,700 likes in two weeks.

Spread

In late March 2024, more posts based on the format were shared on X / Twitter, with multiple examples falsely quoting Sweeney using the slang phrase "skill issue." For example, on March 23rd, 2024, X^[3] user @emzraline made a post claiming Sydney Sweeney was a proponent of rebasing in Git, with the post (shown below, left) garnering over 830 reposts and 9,000 likes in two days.

Later that day, X^[4] user @jdcmedlock made a post claiming Sweeney was in favor of taxing the rich, with the post gaining over 2,500 reposts and 43,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).
