Sweet Peppermint Cat is a viral video by animator acstlu in which a red and white Christmas-themed cat known as Junipurr the Christmas Cat sings a rendition of "Sweet Gingerbread Man" by Suzanne. The video, which is animated in the style of classic claymation Christmas movies, was uploaded to YouTube on December 25th, 2022 and became the subject of edits over the following months, with the character becoming the subject of fan art in the furry community, much of which is rule 34.
Origin
On December 25th, 2022, YouTuber[1] and animator acstlu posted an animation featuring a red and white, Christmas-themed cat character known as Sweet Peppermint Cat singing "Sweet Gingerbread Man." The animation style is based on claymation Christmas movies like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. The video gained over 630,000 views in a year (shown below). The video was posted to X[2] by @acstlu that day, garnering over 28,000 likes and 5,800 reposts in a year.

The cat character featured in the animation, named Junipurr the Christmas Cat, became the subject of fan art over the following days, including lewd rule 34 artwork. On December 27th, 2022, X[3] user @SpicyKikwi posted a piece of SFW fan art that gained over 380 likes in a year (shown below, left). On December 29th, X[4] user @optical_69 posted a meme featuring the cat that gained over 430 likes in a year (shown below, right). On the same day, FurAffinity[5] user RushEloc posted a piece of SFW fan art that gained over 3,000 views in a year.
On November 30th, 2023, YouTuber[6] Coomic posted a fan animation featuring the Sweet Peppermint Cat, garnering over 145,000 views in a month (shown below, left). On December 16th, YouTuber[7] acstlu posted a new animation featuring the cat, also referencing the viral NSFW bowling animations, garnering over 115,000 views in 10 days (shown below, right).
On December 17th, X[8] user @DarknWindie posted two drawings of Junipurr as a Pokémon, garnering over 2,200 likes in 10 days. On December 25th, acstlu posted another animation featuring Junipurr to YouTube[9] in which she sings "My Favorite Things" as sung by Pentatonix, garnering over 100,000 views in two days (shown below).
