Sweating Jordan Peele is a reaction image and GIF of actor Jordan Peele sweating profusely in a sketch on the American comedy series Key and Peele. The image has been used to express hyperbolic nervousness.
Origin
On September 18th, 2013, the third season premiere of the series Key and Peele aired in the United States. The episode included the sketch "Browser History" in which a character played by Peele nervously sweats in response to his girlfriend asking about his internet habits (video below).[1]
Spread
On September 23rd, 2013, Redditor [2] austinisme247 posted the sketch in the /r/videos subreddit. The post received more than 3,500 points (95% upvoted) and 1,400 comments in six years.
On December 17th, Redditor[3] pikadrew requested a GIF of a profile close-up shot of Peele sweating based on a GIF from Imgur. Redditor barracuda415 made the GIF (shown below). Later that day, it was shared in the /r/perfectloops subreddit,[4] where it received more than 550 points (92% upvoted).
That day, the GIF was posted to GIPHY. [5] The following day, the GIF was added to the /r/Cinemagraphs subreddit,[6] where it received more than 900 points (86% upvoted).
