Sure, Grandma, Let's Get You To Bed is an object labeling image macro meme. In the meme, an elderly woman using a walker is labeled with an opinion or activity no longer enjoyed. A younger woman in blue aids her and is always labeled "sure grandma let's get you to bed." The meme went viral on Twitter in September 2020.

Origin

The original image is a stock photograph by Lisa F. Young called "One Step at a Time" (shown below, left).[1]

On September 4th, 2020, Twitter[2] user @hulknaps tweeted the earliest available version of the meme in which the grandma is labeled "updating the fic soon!!!!" The post received more tahn 1,300 like and 590 retweets in less than on months (shown below, right).

Spread

On September 9th, 2020, Facebook [3]group ididitallforthelimpbizkit memes posted a version in which the grandma is labeled, "Limp Bizkit was once the biggest band on this planet." The post received more than 5,200 shares, 3,200 reactions and 430 comments in less than on month (shown below, left).

Days later, Twitter[4] user @igoforthefall tweeted the image with the label "I used to go see bands play live music." The tweet received more than 150,000 likes and 28,000 retweets in less than one week. Over the next week, the image continued to spread (example below, right).

On September 15th, the website StayHipp[5] published a report on the meme.
