Sunkist the Perfect Dog

Sunkist, the Perfect Dog refers to a character who briefly appears in the YouTube webseries Half-Life VR but the AI is Self-Aware by wayneradioTV. The character is a jpeg of a golden retriever, similar to the Ace Combat JPEG Dog. After its appearance, its picture was spammed by fans of the series beneath tweets of the fruit product brand Sunkist.

Origin

On April 15th, 2020, wayneradioTV uploaded "Half-Life VR but the AI is Self-Aware (FINAL ACT: PART 1)," an episode of a comedy series in which Wayne recreates Half-Life using Garry's Mod while his friends improvise the dialogue of other characters in the game. Towards the end of the episode, his team encounters a dog which one character names "Sunkist" (shown below). The episode gained over 500,000 views

The character became a common subject of fan art in the series, who adapted a character's description of Sunkist as "The Perfect Dog." For example, @clownplushie^[1] posted fan art of the dog on May 6th, 2020, gaining over 60 retweets and 140 likes (shown below, left). On April 29th, user @MsBonnieArt^[2] posted art (shown below, right).

On April 28th, 2020, the fruit juice and product brand @Sunkist^[3] posted a tweet that was spammed by fans of the series who replied to the tweet with pictures of Sunkist the dog (shown below). The spammed thread was inquired about in a thread on /r/OutOfTheLoop.^[4]

A Twitter account devoted to posting moments from the series out of context, @HalfLifeOOC, posted a video response to the Sunkist tweet showing an excerpt from the series, gaining 1,100 retweets and 3,900 likes (shown below).
