About

Sundrop and Moondrop, also known as Sun And Moon and The Daycare Attendant, refers to an animatronic antagonist from Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach that has a clownish appearance with a sun for a head when the lights are on and a moon for a head when the lights are off. The character is a mascot for the Superstar Daycare and Sundrop and Moondrop candy. As Sun, the character is friendly, but as Moon, he is aggressive. Sun is fearful of becoming Moon and desperately tries to keep the player from turning off the lights. While the character is simply named "Sun" or "Moon," in-game it is often referred to as "Sundrop" or "Moondrop" by fans because of the candy.

Origin

Sun was introduced to the FNAF series in the eighth installment, Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach as one of the primary antagonists, first appearing in the game's trailer in February 2021. In the game, the player encounters the character as Sun. Sun is erratic and nervous but poses no harm. He repeatedly tried to distract the player character, Gregory, from going behind the desk to shut off the power. After the power goes off, Sun shouts for the player to turn the lights back on then dramatically transforms into Moon. He crawls up the desk saying "naughty boy" and tells the player it's past their bedtime and they must be punished, then leaps out-of-frame, starting the boss fight (shown below).
