Summer Fun! Private Island All Tested Negative Multiple Times is an image macro meme that features the phrase atop photographs of cultural figures in a group. The meme went viral on Twitter in September 2020. Many joked about the picture, which promotes precautions against the coronavirus, but the people in the photo do not abide by the rules.

Origin

On September 4th, 2020, actor Daniel Newman tweeted^[1] a photograph of a group of men under a beach enclosure. They wrote, "Summer fun!
🏖 ♥️ (*private island all tested negative multiple times wear a mask ♥️). They later deleted the post (shown below).

Spread

That day, people began posting images from other sources and using the quote as a parody. For example, Twitter^[2] user @scotty_13_ shared a variation using a screenshot from the film High School Musical 2. The tweet received more than 56,000 likes and 6,400 retweets in less than one week (shown below, left).

The following day, Twitter^[3] user @veryharryhill shared a variation featuring a photograph of a group of American Girl dolls. The tweet received more than 176,000 likes and 15,000 retweets in less than one week (shown below, center).

On September 6th, the official New Jersey government Twitter^[4] account posted an image of the cast of the reality TV show The Jersey Shore. The post received more than 41,000 likes and 5,000 retweets (shown below, right).

Others joked about specifics of the photograph. For example, on September 4th, Twitter^[5] user @McConnortock tweeted a screenshot of the woman in the original photo. They captioned the image, "I wanna hear from Her." The tweet received more than 143,000 likes and 9,200 retweets (shown below).

Several media outlets covered the tweet, including The Daily Dot, ^[6] Mashable, ^[7] PopBuzz,^[8] Junkee^[9] and more.
