WarioWare Gold is a video game released by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS in July of 2018. The game stars Wario and was released to positive reviews, and online, social media users praised the games humorous cutscenes.
History
WarioWare Gold is directed by Gore Abe and produced by Naoki Nakano, Toshio Sengoku, and Kensuke Tanabe.[1] It is the 8th game in the series. The game was announced in the March 8th, 2018 Nintendo Direct (shown below).
As in other WarioWare titles, players complete a series pf micro mini-games which become faster and progressively more challenging until they either complete the series or lose their lives. The game features mini-games from several of the previous entries in the series, along with new ones, making for a total of over 300 games. Notably, the game features full voice-acting. The game was released for the Nintendo 3DS on July 27th, 2018 in the EU, July 28th in the AU, August 2nd in Japan, and August 3rd in the United States.
Reception
WarioWare Gold was received favorably by critics, receiving a score of 78/100 on Metacritic.[2] Some critics were split on whether the inclusion of games from former titles worked to the game's benefit, but agreed the game was great for newcomers to the series. However, most critics enjoyed the uniqueness of the game and its emphasis on humor and voiceover work, making it stand out from other Nintendo franchises. Gamexplain posted a video review of the game, gaining over 59,000 likes (shown below).
Online Presence
While the game does not have a specific community devoted to it, several threads on Reddit praising the game have gained hundreds of points. For example, a thread on /r/3DS calling it one of the best games available for the console gained over 300 points.[3] A release discussion about the game posted to the same subreddit gained over 80 points.[4]
Additionally, fans praised the game's cutscenes which featured full voice-acting. A post on Tumblr celebrating the cutscenes posted by user theweegeemeister gained over 600 notes (shown below, top). A YouTube post compiling all the cutscenes in the game posted by ProSofiaGama gained over 203,000 views (shown below, bottom).

After this scene was released online as part of a demo for the game, several YouTubers remixed the scene. One of the most popular videos, posted by SuperWiiBros08 on July 11th, 2018 gained over 65,000 views (shown below, left). Another by SuperMikeyBros gained over 41,000 views (shown below, right).
