About

The Temu Pig Shirt refers to several graphic T-shirts sold on the website and online marketplace Temu featuring an image of a pig relaxing in a sauna. The artwork was originally made in October 2017 to advertise a line of Midea air fryers and was made available on Temu as early as 2023. In mid-October 2024, X / Twitter users began posting memes and reactions about the shirt after receiving targeted ads from Temu advertising the product. Following the virality of the pig shirt, some users also began sharing screenshots of a Temu ad advertising a dog wig.

History

In October 2017, Midea rolled out the "Fatty Cow, Chubby Pig" advertisement campaign for a line of air fryers.[1] One ad featured a cow relaxing in a sauna and another featured a pig relaxing in a sauna alongside the tagline, "cuts 80% of the fat from food."

On an unknown date as early as June 2023, several Temu[2][3] sellers began selling shirts with prints of the pig advertisement on them.
