History

Snapcube launched on July 29th, 2016.[1] It was created by Penny Parker, herself a popular YouTuber with over 87,000 subscribers.[2] The channel's earliest extant video was posted October 28th, 2016 (shown below, left). After experimenting with several different styles, the channel found success with its Real-Time Fan Dub series, with its first episode, published June 8th, 2018, featuring several YouTubers dubbing over Sonic Adventure 2 (shown below, right).

The series' second episode featured PaperBoxHouse's "Eggman Pisses On the Moon" monologue and has proven the most popular video on the channel to date, gaining over 1.1 million views.[3] Other games to see Real-Time Fan Dub games on the channel include Marvel's Spider-Man (shown below, left) and Sonic '06 (shown below, right).

Online Presence

The series has led to the creation of fan art inspired by some of the series' moments. For example, Tumblr user cuddledot[4] posted art from the Sonic '06 playthrough, gaining over 3,100 notes (shown below, left). User genopaint[5] did the same, gaining over 2,100 notes (shown below, right).

Eggman Pisses On the Moon

Eggman Pisses On the Moon refers to an audio clip taken from YouTube channel SnapCube in which a man improvises dialogue over a cutscene from Sonic Adventure 2, acting as the villainous Dr. Robotnik, aka Eggman, saying he was urinating on the moon. The audio has been remixed and placed over other footage. On July 18th, 2018, YouTube channel SnapCube uploaded a video in which they improvised voiceovers over the cutscenes Sonic Adventure 2, entitled "Sonic Adventure 2 (Dark Story + Final Story) | Real-Time Fandub Games."[1] By February 15th, 2019, the video had gained over 600,000 views (shown below). According to the credits provided by the channel, the person voicing Eggman is Twitter user PaperBoxHouse
