The syndrome inspired memes and some seemingly legitimate warnings from concerned parents online urging parents not to let their children watch the series.

On January 15th, Russian outlet Regnum reported that Russian police were investigating whether Skibidi Toilet, as well as its creator, had a detrimental effect on children after police received a complaint from a Moscow resident.
