Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Japanese: 青春ブタ野郎 / Seishun Buta Yarō), also known by its shortened Japanse title Aobuta, is a light novel, anime, and manga series about a high schooler, Sakuta Azusagawa, who discovers an actress, Mai Sakurajima , in a bunny costume in his school's library. However, no one can see her except for him.

History

The series started as a light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida, beginning its run on April 10th, 2014 (issue one shown below).^[1] It ran nine volumes until October 10th, 2018.

A manga of the series began on October 8th, 2016. Volumes two and three were released two years later, in October of 2018.

Anime

An anime of the series animated by CloverWorks and directed by Sōichi Masui ran thirteen episodes from October 4th-December 27th, 2018. A film adaptation for the series is scheduled for late 2019.

The show has a rating of 8.58 on MyAnimeList out of 116,000 votes.^[2] The show also has a page on TV Tropes.^[3] The show has over 6,000 likes on Facebook.^[4] The show has not spread far on Reddit, but Reddit user Zathoth^[5] posted a long thread on how they were surprised to find how much they enjoyed the show in /r/anime, gaining over 270 points.
