MrBeast, KSI and Logan Paul's "Lunchly" refers to a Lunchables competitor launched by the three YouTubers in September 2024. The food product was launched on September 16th of that year, comprising of MrBeast's Feastables chocolates, Logan Paul and KSI's Prime Drinks and a variety of simple foods, similar to Lunchable snacks. The product launch received backlash from the wider YouTube community, as well as various internet users, with many perceiving it to be a "cash grab" for food that is ultimately unhealthy for children to consume. Notably marketing of sodium as "electrolytes" garnered the product much criticism online.

History

On September 16th, 2024, YouTubers and content creators MrBeast, KSI and Logan Paul jointly launched their Lunchables competitor "Lunchly," with a shared post on their Instagram[1] pages gathering over 1 million likes in a day.

The trio also promoted their product on Instagram Live, featuring an appearance by "The Rizzler" Christian Joseph. A reupload[2] of the stream is shown below.

The product launch was discussed on Dexerto's X[3] account on September 16th, 2024, as well as DramaAlert's X[4] account on the same date, gathering over 24,000 and 33,000 likes, respectively, in two days.

Online Presence

Following the Lunchly launch in mid-September 2024, numerous social media users and content creators began posting about the new brand and reacting to the announcement. For example, on September 16th, 2024, X[5] user @nescartridges quoted the post writing, "'Variation of food'🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩," and gathering over 100,000 likes in two days.

Lunchly also received some negative feedback from YouTubers upon launch, with gaming YouTuber[5] DanTDM writing, "What happened to YouTubers man.. I can't not say anything anymore. This is selling stuff for the sake of making money, simple. How does this benefit their fans? This is selling crap to kids who don't know better than to trust the people who are selling it to them. Do better."

The post gathered over 400,000 likes and responses in two days from other YouTubers, many who agreed with his sentiment.


Logan Paul, KSI and MrBeast's Response

On September 16th, 2024, KSI quoted[6] DanTDM's post with a photo of his YouTooz toy, a collectible similar to Funko Pops. The post was captioned, "Looks like crap to me 👍🏾," and gathered over 21,000 likes in two days. He was ratioed in a reply by X user @TheMasterBucks, who pointed out that KSI had a YouTooz figurine as well.

The Community Note later added to the post read, "Not only has KSI worked with them before, the CEO of Youtooz, Austin Long, got his start by managing the Sidemen and was an executive producer on their YouTube Red show."

On September 17th, Logan Paul[7] quoted DanTDM, writing that Lunchables have been found to contain lead and that Lunchly's are indeed a healthier alternative. The Community Note on the post cited that the "The Ice Pop PRIME Hydration found in the Turkey Stack ‘ems also has reports of lead contamination from the ERC." The post gathered over 9,000 likes and 7,000 quote tweets in one day.

Also on September 17th, 2024, MrBeast[8] responded to a DramaAlert post covering the backlash, writing, "Lunchables sells hundreds of millions of units and countless people eat it. Our goal is to give people a better for you alternative to it."

Additional Reactions

Many internet users posted memes and replies celebrating Dan "The Diamond Minecart" for criticizing MrBeast, KSI and Logan Paul, with X[9] user @rockyskrimbles calling him "YouTube Jesus," and X[10] user @sodasux_ pointing out that Logan Paul's privacy policy says, "'if you eat this you can't sue us.'"

DanTDM's interactions with the YouTube trio were also reposted to the subreddit /r/YouTube[11] by Redditor /u/-Appleaday-, where it gathered over 7,000 upvotes in a day.

YouTubers Arto[12] and MorePegasus[13] posted videos recounting the drama on September 17th, 2024, gathering over 200,000 and 600,000 views, respectively, in less than a day.

Also on September 17th, TikToker @goojiepooj posted a video going over many of the claims and marketing material released amid Lunchly's launch, refuting and pointing out issues she had with them. The TikTok received over 993,000 views and 93,000 likes in two days.
