Joe Biden's "We Just Did" Hat is a blue baseball cap worn by President-elect Joe Biden in a photograph with his wife Dr. Jill Biden. Many believe that the hat is a direct response to President Donald Trump's Make America Great Again hat.

History

On November 7th, 2020, Dr. Jill Biden tweeted ^[1] a photograph of herself with her husband President-elect Joe Biden. In the picture, President-elect Biden is wearing a navy blue baseball cap that reads, "We just did. 46." The numeral 46 is a reference to Biden being the 46th U.S. president. The tweet received more than 629,000 likes and 85,000 retweets in less than one week (shown below).

Over the next 24 hours, some online began posting about how the hat was a response to President Trump's "Make America Great Again" hat and slogan. On November 8th, Twitter^[2] user @jadevvictoria tweeted, "I DIDNT EVEN REALIZE BIDEN’S HAT IS IN RESPONSE TO THE MAGA HAT LMFAOOOO." The tweet received more than 123,000 likes and 21,000 retweets in less than two days (shown below, left).

That day, TikToker @shonaghforbes shared a video about the hat and compared it to the "Make America Great Again" hat. The tweet received more than 2.8 million reactions, 121,000 shares and 33,000 comments in less than two days (shown below, right).
